Тест на каяття

The author of the novel takes readers through the streets of modern Damascus and offers his own perspective on life in a city that has suffered losses during the war in Syria. The main character of the novel is a writer who is trying to find his way in the new, war-ravaged reality. He shows us what daily life in Damascus is like—both tragic and routine. Drawing on his experience as a journalist, poet and prose writer, Khalil Sweileh writes in an extremely figurative language about lost opportunities, remorse and, above all, about love, which, despite all the cruel reality, awakens in a wounded soul.
This novel is an important contribution to the treasury of modern Arabic literature. He received the prestigious Sheikh Zayed Prize in 2018 in the category of fiction.
