The legendary "Aeneid" is a kind of textbook of the people's life, a broad panorama of the life and customs of Ukrainians by the classic of Ukrainian literature Ivan Petrovych Kotlyarevskyi . Kotlyarevsky borrowed only the plot outline and the names of the characters from the classic poem Virgil , but the main source of inspiration for him was the contemporary reality and completely new creative techniques. Generous humor, expressiveness and extreme sincerity - this is what made "Aeneid" a truly folk work, which is an example for modern writers and a real masterpiece for readers.
