The novel of the prominent Ukrainian writer Yuri Shcherbak "Time of the Tyrant. Epiphany of 2084" is the final part of the "CHAS" trilogy. The hero of the novel, General Hajduk, the military dictator of Ukraine, is going through one of the most dramatic periods of his life. "The Time of the Tyrant" continues the plot line of the previous two novels, where behind the grotesque form and fantastic situations lies the real scale of possible geopolitical events of the future. This is an independent work with an almost detective plot, love vicissitudes, vivid authorial insights and prophecies.
The fact that Yuriy Shcherbak, as the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Israel, has a broad perspective on the problems of international relations also lends a strong persuasiveness to the works. In the "CHAS" trilogy, he generously uses citations of secret documents that reveal the cynicism and double standards of the players of the world political scene, and presents his paradoxical vision of what may happen to Ukraine and the world in the future.
